How to Beat the Heat

Summer Tips: 

Although we all look forward to summer, the rising temperatures and high humidity can take a toll on our makeup. The heat presents many challenges when it comes to looking and feeling your best so here are a few tips:

• Prime your face to help keep your makeup in place                                                                        (this is especially important in the summer) 

• Wear a setting spray to keep your makeup looking fresh, to set your makeup, and to help your last throughout the day

• Consider trading in your foundation for a tinted moisture with SPF

       (but if you use a foundation use one with SPF)

• Set your foundation or tinted moisturizer or any liquid makeup with a translucent powder

• Use a waterproof mascara

• Apply a waterproof base under powder eyeshadow

Other Helpful Tips: 

• wash your hair after swimming/use a leave-in conditioner

• stay hydrated (drink plenty of water) 

• wear sunblock/sunscreen

• wear sunglasses 

During periods of extreme heat + heat advisories

• Limit outdoor activities, avoid strenuous activity, and avoid exercise outdoors

• If possible stay inside during the "heat if the day" between 12pm-4pm

• Watch out for signs of heat exhaustion (confusion, nausea, light-headedness, etc.)
